Meet the Staff

Welcome to Rubinoff's Mighty Molars and Simon Says Braces!

The website for Dr. Barry Rubinoff and Dr. Clifford Simon's paediatric orthodontic practice. Since a paediatric office may be a new experience to you and your child, we would like to introduce you to my philosophy and procedures in order to best prepare and treat your child. The objectives of our offices are to:
  1. Motivate and educate you and your child to have a healthy mouth.
  2. Teach your child to accept dental procedures with little or no stress and strain in our safe nurturing environment.
  3. Render your child's mouth healthy by removing all the decay, tartar and plaque and by restoring the teeth and gum tissues to their proper contour.
  4. Supervise and guide the growth and development of the jaws and new teeth in order to have a healthy and pleasing bite and smile.
  5. Inform you on the prevention of accidents to the head, eyes and mouth.
We have found that many fears can be allayed if the child is well prepared for his or her visits. You can explain to your child that he/she is going to the dentist to have his/her teeth checked and cleaned and to have pictures, called x-rays, taken of the teeth. If this is your child's first visit you need not go into further detail unless prodded. When explaining other procedures, avoid words such as hurt, needle, drill, pull and pain. In our office, when talking to your children we use such words as, "sleepy juice", dentist's "electric" toothbrush and "uncomfortable". Remember, the unexpected and exaggerated most often evoke unnecessary fear! We have found the "tell", "show", and "do" method most effective in orienting and teaching the child about dental procedures.
