After 40 years Dr. Rubinoff continues to not only enjoy but also thrive in his chosen profession. Surrounding himself with caring, dedicated, long standing staff Dr. Rubinoff's focus for his practice is PREVENTION. Prevention as it applies to dental decay, gum disease, orthodontic problems, mouth injuries and of course anxiety and fear.
In addition to his busy office schedule, Dr. Rubinoff enjoys speaking to groups of parents and health professionals about paediatric dentistry. Working with people has always been a stimulating and rewarding for Dr. Rubinoff, as he is also a part time teacher at the University of Toronto Dental School.
A two generation hockey dad with 5 boys from 14 to 40, Dr. Rubinoff is always willing to share his experiences and give tips to new hockey parents. He also has a 12 year old princess who hates the hockey rink! If you don't see him at the office you might just catch him at the rink.
Originally from Montreal, Dr. Simon earned his dental degree from McGill University in 1987. After graduation he worked as a general dentist for 4 years with the James Bay Cree of Northern Quebec. In 1994 Dr. Simon continued his professional education at Philadelphia's Temple University in orthodontic training.
Since 1995 Dr. Simon has been practicing orthodontics in Toronto with Dr. Rubinoff and continues to serve as Chief Orthodontist to the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay, Quebec.
Dr. Simon finds working in a pediatric/orthodontic practice a great benefit to the patient in terms of early treatment needs and oral hygiene reinforcement. An avid traveler, he enjoys visiting new countries, experiencing new cultures and photographing everything for future memories.
Kim has been a member of Dr. Rubinoff's and Dr. Simon's office for 15 years. She is the person to speak with for any financial or bookkeeping questions and also helps out at reception. Available in the office on Tuesday's and Thursdays, Kim is kept busy in her off hours keeping up with her 3 children.
Patricia has been a proud member of the Rubinoff/Simon practice for the last 12 years. She is the senior receptionist, responsible to taking care of any parent concerns as well as scheduling appointments. Patricia is a proud mother of 2 teenagers and enjoys traveling, sports, reading and interacting with people in her spare time.
Rachel has been working as a dental receptionist with Dr. Rubinoff and Dr. Simon since 1999. Rachel thoroughly enjoys talking to the parents and working with the children.
Mary Jane is our newest member of the administrative team. She brings with her 15 years dental experience. She is excited to be a part of the new anaesthetic services are office is now offering. Mary Jane is a proud mother of two active daughters. When not on the sidelines of the soccer field, you will find Mary Jane relaxing at her family cottage in Muskoka.
Judi has been working along side Dr. Rubinoff and Dr. Simon since September 1979. As a member of the dental hygiene team, Judi's duties allow her to work in the Thornhill location with both Dr. Rubinoff's and Dr. Simon's patients. A busy mother of 2 teenagers Judi views her long-standing working relationship at the practice a pleasure. She can't wait to see you at the office!
Barb has been with the practice since 1991. She is a dental hygienist with experience in paediatric, periodontal and general dentistry and has also received her restorative dental hygiene credentials. A busy hockey mom Barb has two boys 9 and 11 years of age.
Margie has been apart of the team since the 1970's. As one of the hygienists Margie is amazed at how the years pass by so fast. It has been mostly full of laughs and fun as she has enjoyed watching the kids grow over that time to the point where now she is now dealing with their children, second generation patients.
Mary has been working with Dr. Rubinoff for the past 6 years. As a dental hygienist Mary finds her job very rewarding, working with children as they grow into young adults. Personally Mary delivered her first child in June and will be away from the office beginning June 2004 but is looking forward to returning in the New Year.
 Staci has a special connection with the practice… Not only is she one of the friendly and fun hygienists she was also a patient in her youth. "It's always a thrill to work with Dr. Rubinoff. Growing up in this office always gave me a positive dental experience, and I'm proud to help carry on the traditions."
A registered dental hygienist since 1999, Marla was welcomed into Dr. Rubinoff and Dr. Simon's office in April 2004. Very versatile working in orthodontics, paediatric and general dentistry, in her spare time Marla keeps quite busy with her 3 children, dog and cat, and tries to go hiking whenever possible.
Susie is a graduate of Seneca's ECE Program and the George Brown Dental Assisting Program and has been with the practice since 1981 as our food counselor. Susie plays an invaluable role in providing nutrition counseling designed to maintain health, well being and oral hygiene. Her outgoing, cheerful approach with children and her passion for health and nutrition round out our practice's total health care program.
Marina is a Preventative Dental Assistant and had been with the practice since 2003. With a multi-cultural patient base Marina's knowledge of multiple languages makes her invaluable in helping children with little English feel more comfortable. Marina can speak English, Russian, Ukrainian and French. She looks forward to seeing you on your next visit.
Alicia is a Preventative Dental Assistant to Dr. Simon and has been with the practice since 1998. Her favorite part of her job is the day when a patient can remove their braces and show off their bright new smiles. A happy employee of the Rubinoff/Simon family, Alicia marvels at how the practice keeps up to date with new technology and advances in dentistry which in turns keeps her in tune with her own career objectives.
Mirjana (Mariana) has been Dr. Rubinoff's assistant and proud Mighty Molar for 12 years. Even though she admits to having her fare share of challenging patients, Mirjana is proud to say that every one of them have walked out with a smile and a prize after their appointment. She has enjoyed watching her patients grow up over the years and meeting all the new faces.
